Post 6: Essay 3 Questions Renew

I would like to interview the woman who is immigrant and has worked a varity of jobs, such as a seamstress, a cashier, a teacher assistant and so on. During she worked as low-wage jobs, she belived that as long as improving herself jobs skills, she would get higher-position jobs. Therefore, she study at a college after work. However, her ex-husband didn't think that women should go to work and get high-educated. There were quarrels between them so that they divorced finally. She didn't give up working and studying. Eventually, she got a master degree. She is a teacher in a primary school now.

My research question is whether immigrants have good jobs or nor when they live in the foreign countries.
1. What did you feel when you just came to the United States? When did you have homesick?
2. Why did you think that you should go to work?
3. What happened when you work in service industy?

  1. A great start. A couple things:

    - The personal background about immigration and her husband you give is really interesting and important here - think about questions to ask about this. Even if you already know what happened, you want to hear her thoughts and feelings about this.

    - Think about your research question as broader about how immigrants are faring, rather than a simple "do they have good jobs"?
