Thoughts about work
Before I did the research paper, I thought immigrants were supposed to live blissfully without pressure. Actually living in foriegn country was not prepect as I thought it would be. Immigrants should work much harder than the natives. And I am a member of immigration group. If I need a well-paid job and stable life, I have to step into American society. Studying, working and socializing with others in English are nice ways to make my dream come true. As long as be into society, immigrants will find their ideal jobs and live happily.

The greatest wave of labor unrest in American history
Fortunately, I take history class in this semester. I have learned a lot which are about Americans how to fight for their liberty, especially African Americans, immigrants, women and so on.
In 1919, over 4 million workers engaged in strikes---the greatest wave of labor unrest in American history. The strike wave reached its peak in the era's greatest labor uprising, the steel strike. Centered in Pittsburgh and Chicago, this united more than 360,000 mostly immigrant workers in demands for union recognition, higher wages and an eight-hour workday. Before this strike, the steel mills were autocracies, where managers arbitrarily established wages and working conditions. They even suppressed all efforta at union organizing. In order to get freedom for everybody, steel workers held this great strike.

Bonus Post 1
There was the budget hearing last Thursday. Before I went to this hearing, I haven't known anything about the government will cut education budget.
It is the depression. Thousands of people lost their jobs!!!!!Some of them need to look for jobs. However, I think few and few people find jobs at this terrible period.
What do they do if they don't have jobs? I think that going to school and get higher educaiton is the nice idea for the unemployed. At this time, the government should support them to go to school but cutting the budget!
It is unfair for students, especially the poor!!!! Students need the financial aid to pay their higher and higher tuition. Government should take action to help students in studying!!!!!!

Someting new about Essay #3
I would like to interview the woman who is immigrant and has worked a varity of jobs, such as a seamstress, a cashier, a teacher assistant and so on. During she worked as low-wage jobs, she belived that as long as improving herself jobs skills, she would get higher-position jobs. Therefore, she study at a college after work. However, her ex-husband didn't think that women should go to work and get high-educated. There were quarrels between them so that they divorced finally. She didn't give up working and studying. Eventually, she got a master degree. She is a teacher in a primary school now.
My research questions are how immigrant women solve their hardship when they in foreign countries and how they fight for freedom with their husbands and what difficulties they meet when they want to get better education.

Levine poem "What Work Is" describes the position of people who look for jobs and what their hardship is. They wait for jobs in the rain for a long time. While Levine is looking for jobs in line, he see his brother in front of him. However, when he looks carefully, he finds it is someone else's brother, not his. They don't leave the line for working until they hear a guy says they are not hiring today. He feels so sad an unfair. His brother has a good shift job, well paid and leisure time to do what he likes to do. But he still wants to look for jobs, no matter what job he looks for. Even he doesn't what jobs he is looking for-----that is why he doesn't have job.
I tried to look for job when it was summer last year. I didn't have idea what kind of job was suitable for me. I just wanted to work and earn money.

In general, men are stronger than women. That's why most people believe that men should take more responsibility and earn more money for living, especially in Asia. For instance, Janpanese women would't go to work after they got married. They just take care of their children and do housework in the past. Even women could go to work, men still are the strongest ones who provide financial support.
Women are equal to men in working for living nowadays. In many marriages there has been a complete role reversal with the man staying at home and the woman going out to work. It is anti-tranditional, but it develops our society.
When I was child, my parents worked at the same company. Their positions were similar so that their salaries had no difference at that time. However, my mom got another job and she earned more money than my dad did seven years ago. We lived as in the past, nothing has changed. I don't think it is the matter that who go out to work or who earn more money. Men and women should have equal rights to do what they like to do.
It doesn't matter who are the strongest ones to support their familes. It doesn't matter which jobs should belong to men or which are women-dominated. Which job you get doesn't depend on which gender you are.
